Reishi is a traditionally popular Eastern medicine that boosts the immune system and has shown anti-oncogenic properties. These benefits come from the mushroom being a fantastic source of triterpenes (ganoderic acids), which have a molecular structure similar to steroids. It is a great source of biologically-active polysaccharides. Additionally, unlike many mushrooms which have up to 90% water content, fresh reishi contains only about 75% water.
